Body discovered during demolition of former Danville studio building

DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) — Danville police are investigating after a deceased individual was discovered during the demolition of a former studio building Thursday afternoon.

Officers responded at approximately 12:36 p.m. on May 21 to 128 N. Walnut St., formerly known as Studio 25, after receiving a report of a body found at the property. When officers arrived, they located the individual, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Danville Police Department, the body was discovered while demolition work was underway at the building. Authorities said the investigation remains active, and the identity of the deceased is being withheld pending confirmation and notification of family members.

An autopsy is expected to be conducted in coordination with the Vermilion County Coroner’s Office. Police said there is currently no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.

Investigators are asking anyone with information related to the case to contact the Danville Police Department or Vermilion County Crime Stoppers.
