URBANA, Ill. (Chambana Today) — This fall, students in the vocational program at CIRCLE Academy Vermilion (CAV) were busy turning creativity into valuable learning experiences through the school’s student-run business, Campus Creations. The initiative allows students to transform simple materials into crafted products, while gaining crucial life and work skills along the way.

Shanna Doggett, program coordinator, expressed her gratitude for the students’ dedication, saying, “I am truly thankful for all the amazing students and staff at CAV for helping make our vocational program such a success. Their hard work, creativity, flexibility, and teamwork have helped Campus Creations grow into something we’re truly proud of.”

This fall, students created an array of products, including candles, bath salts, hygiene items, mugs, tie blankets, and holiday crafts. The program goes beyond just making things. Students gain practical experience by learning how to plan, create, package, price, and sell their items—skills they’ll use in future careers and daily life.

Campus Creations also provides valuable real-world experience in customer service. For example, Raquel* helped at a campus craft sale by greeting customers, handling payments, and giving correct change—building her skills in money handling and boosting her confidence. Maurice* is another standout student, known for his strong work ethic and positive attitude. His efforts have made him an integral member of the Campus Creations team.

As the school year ends, the CAV community reflects on the progress of its students, made possible by the generosity of supporters. To help continue programs like Campus Creations in the year ahead, CAV invites donations before the year ends. Donations must be made by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, to be counted for the current tax year.
