CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The Champaign Park District is inviting families to register for its summer camps and encouraging residents to apply for seasonal employment ahead of the busy summer season.

The district’s camps offer activities including field trips, sports, swimming, crafts, and games, giving children opportunities to make new friends while staying active. Camp options are available for children ages 3 to 16 and are held Monday through Friday at multiple locations, including Douglass Community Center, Leonhard Recreation Center, Springer Cultural Center, and Prairie Farm.

Registration for Champaign-Urbana residents is now open, and officials say spots are expected to fill quickly.

In addition to camps, the Park District is hiring for a variety of summer positions. Job opportunities include lifeguards and customer service staff at Sholem Aquatic Center, day camp leaders for Park District and CU Special Recreation programs, and seasonal positions such as park gardeners, natural areas workers, and operations staff.

More information on camp registration and employment opportunities is available at champaignparks.org.
