CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The Champaign Community Coalition will host the Black Mental Health and Wellness Conference on Saturday, September 20 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Parkland College, located at 2400 W. Bradley Ave. in Champaign.
The city-sponsored event will bring together members of the Champaign City Council, Human Relations Commission, and Citizen Review Subcommittee, along with area residents, professionals, and advocates to explore critical issues surrounding mental health in the Black community.
With a focus on wellness, healing, and equitable access to care, the conference aims to foster dialogue, share resources, and promote culturally responsive support systems. The agenda includes keynote speakers, expert panels, and breakout sessions addressing topics such as trauma, community-based support, and the intersection of mental health and public policy.
