CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District (CUPHD) has issued a public appeal for donations of period products, citing a renewed shortage driven by growing community need.

According to a recent post from CUPHD’s official Instagram account, supplies of tampons and pads are particularly low. Officials say they’ve seen increased demand in recent months, and community support is essential to keeping their free product program sustainable.

“All donations are greatly appreciated,” the agency wrote. “Tampons and pads are our current highest need.”

CUPHD has set up an Amazon wishlist for virtual donations. Items purchased through the link will be delivered directly to the agency for distribution to clients and community members.

The health district emphasized that the availability of period products directly impacts the dignity, health, and well-being of those they serve, especially individuals facing financial hardship.
