DANVILLE, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Downtown Danville will come alive with eerie elegance on Friday, October 3rd, as the city hosts its much-anticipated Folklore Progressive Dinner, a one-of-a-kind event blending fine dining with spine-tingling storytelling.

Presented by the City of Danville, this immersive culinary journey invites guests 21 and older to embark on a guided, four-course experience across several historic downtown venues. With small groups of around 25 attendees and staggered start times between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m., each tour promises an intimate and memorable evening filled with flavor, folklore, and a touch of the unexpected.

The evening begins with appetizers at the first stop, featuring “Seeing is Believing Bites” and “A Witch’s Pumpkin & Sage Crostini,” paired with chilling tales brought to life by KottrGrimm Theatrical Storytellers. Guests then make their way to Mimi’s Kitchen & Catering for a choice of entrées, including Blackberry Cabernet Short Ribs or a vegan Butternut Squash Ravioli with Brown Butter Sage.

The suspense—and sweetness—builds at Bowman Studios, where Drops of Ash will serve handcrafted desserts, offering guests cookies or decadent cake slices as the story nears its climax. The evening concludes at the beautifully restored Fischer Theatre, where attendees will enjoy drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and live music until 10:00 p.m. A cash bar will remain open until the event’s end.

Tickets are $25 and must be purchased in advance through the official event page. Physical tickets will be mailed prior to the event and are required for entry at the first venue. Availability is limited, and organizers encourage early registration to avoid missing out on this unforgettable evening.
