Fatal crash involving semi-truck in Shelby County leaves one dead

SHELBY COUNTY, Ill. (Chambana Today) — A fatal crash occurred in Shelby County Tuesday morning, involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. Illinois State Police confirmed the incident took place shortly after 6 a.m. on IL-32 near Main Street in Stewardson. While the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, authorities reported that the driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

State Police said the crash has led to the closure of IL-32 for an extended period while officers work to investigate the incident. Drivers traveling through the area are urged to take alternate routes. At this time, no further details have been released, as the investigation continues.
