DANVILLE, IL (Chambana Today) — As the spring real estate market approaches, Hayley Siefert: Broker at Keller Williams Realty, TREC says now is the perfect time for homeowners to start preparing their homes to sell.

“This is the ideal time to start planning, even if you aren’t ready to list for months or even years,” Siefert said. “A lot of people wait until the last minute, and then they’re rushed to make repairs or updates. By scheduling a seller consultation early, we can help them take the right steps to maximize the value of their home.”

During a consultation, Siefert and her team walk through the home with homeowners, offering advice on everything from repairs and landscaping to staging and marketing strategies. “If we see something that could boost the home’s appeal, we connect you with contractors or service providers who can help,” she said. “It’s all about putting your best foot forward and making sure your home shines when it hits the market.”

Siefert noted that some homeowners schedule consultations years in advance. “I’ve met with clients two years before they even plan to list,” she said. “It gives them time to make thoughtful updates, prioritize what really adds value, and feel confident about the selling process.”

In addition to her work in real estate, Siefert and her team have launched Siefert Supports Locals, a monthly initiative spotlighting local businesses in Champaign County and Vermilion County. “We wanted to do more than just give monetary support,” Siefert said. “We wanted to help these businesses grow and get noticed in their communities.”

Each month, the Siefert Team features a business with a promotional video, blog post, and sometimes special offers for customers. Recent highlights include Good Judy’s, a newer business celebrating its first year, and Anchor Florist, which has been serving the community for 141 years.

“It’s amazing to learn the history behind these businesses,” Siefert said. “Anchor Florist has only had two family owners in its entire history. And with Good Judy’s, we love seeing the energy and creativity that new entrepreneurs bring to our area.”

The program also includes promotions to help businesses attract customers. For Valentine’s Day, Siefert partnered with the two businesses to offer 12 percent off a bouquet at Good Judy’s. Future plans include featuring additional businesses each month and supporting a wide variety of industries, from restaurants to local artisans.

“Our goal is to highlight businesses of all types and help spread the word about what they offer,” Siefert said. “It’s about celebrating our community and taking pride in the incredible work being done right here at home.”

Homeowners interested in selling or local businesses wanting to be featured can contact Siefert at 217-918-0087, through the Siefert Team email, or via social media channels. “We love connecting with people,” she said. “Whether it’s helping someone sell their home or spotlighting a local business, this is what makes our work meaningful.”
