TILTON, Ill. (Chambana Today) — Horizon Health’s Tilton Clinic is now open five days a week, thanks to the full-time arrival of Family Nurse Practitioner Megan Paxson. The expanded hours mark a new phase for the clinic, which originally opened in June with limited availability.

Located at 2 Illiana Drive, Suite C, just off Illinois Route 1 across from the Toyota dealership, the clinic now operates Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

“We appreciate the community’s patience while we worked through the details of providing family medicine services in Tilton,” said Jay Carmichael, Horizon Health President & CEO. “Unfortunately, Illinois licensing and practice regulations delayed this process. We are now proud to announce that we are operating with full-time hours, and we are eager to further our relationship with Tilton and the surrounding communities.”

Paxson, a Rockville, Indiana native, brings a strong background in both adult and pediatric care. She holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing from Indiana State University. Prior to joining Horizon Health, she worked as a registered nurse in Indiana in adult medical and pediatric units.

“My goal is to build long-lasting relationships with my patients, which ensures consistency in their care,” Paxson said. “Having an open dialogue with them promotes trust and personalizes their care, leading to better health outcomes and a higher quality of life.”

In addition to Paxson, the clinic team includes certified medical assistant Britney Garrison and registration representative Melissa Turner.

The Tilton Clinic offers comprehensive family medicine services, including routine and sick visits, chronic disease management (such as diabetes and high blood pressure), preventative screenings, and coordination with specialty care providers. It is supported by Horizon Health’s larger system, which spans 15 locations and over 40 services ranging from surgery to physical therapy.

Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are welcome. To schedule, call 217-655-4362 or visit MyHorizonHealth.org/Tilton. Updates are also posted on the Tilton Clinic Facebook page.
