CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — Drivers should plan for lane reductions on Prospect Avenue beginning Monday, June 1, as Feutz Contractors begins street repair work expected to last five to six weeks.

One northbound lane and one southbound lane on Prospect Avenue between Springfield Avenue and John Street will be closed for the duration of the project, though one lane in each direction will remain open at all times. To prevent traffic from turning onto Prospect Avenue during construction, short sections of Healey Street will also be closed between Highland Avenue and Prospect Avenue, and between Prospect Avenue and Pine Street. The affected area is pictured below.

The closures are expected to remain in place through mid-July, weather permitting. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes and pay close attention to traffic control devices in the construction area.
