SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (Chambana Today) — A salmonella outbreak linked to ready-to-eat meals from Metabolic Meals has sickened at least 16 individuals across 10 U.S. states, resulting in seven hospitalizations, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The meals, delivered during the week of July 28, include Four Cheese Tortellini with Pesto Sauce and Grilled Chicken (Lot Code 25199, Best By August 7, 2025), Low‑Carb Chicken Teriyaki and Vegetables (Lot Code 25202, Best By August 5, 2025), Black Garlic & Ranch Chicken Tenders with Roasted Vegetables (Lot Code 25205, Best By August 8, 2025), and Sliced Top Sirloin with Roasted Peanut Sauce and Summer Vegetables (Lot Code 25203, Best By August 6, 2025), along with related lots 25204.

Illness onset dates range from July 24 to August 15. While no deaths have been reported, health officials caution that the actual number of affected individuals is likely higher due to underreporting and delays in lab confirmation.

The CDC has issued an alert advising consumers who ordered these meals to discard them immediately and to carefully clean any surfaces they may have contacted. The agency also recommends seeking medical attention for symptoms such as fever, persistent or bloody diarrhea, vomiting that prevents hydration, or signs of dehydration.

States reporting cases include Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin. Metabolic Meals is cooperating with health authorities and has directly contacted customers believed to have received affected products .
