CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — In a move that will affect students starting in the Summer 2026 term, the Parkland College Board of Trustees approved a 3.76% increase in tuition and fees at their February meeting on Wednesday. The increase will mean that District 505 students will pay $7 more per credit hour for Parkland’s Tier One programs, which make up the majority of the college’s offerings.

However, out-of-state and international students’ tuition rates will remain unchanged. Additionally, book fees will be applied to select courses, ensuring that students have immediate access to their required materials, while universal fees remain the same.

The meeting followed a budget workshop led by Parkland’s Chief Financial Officer Amie Loyd and Senior Vice President Christopher Randles. Other business at the meeting included the board’s approval of a customized group travel tour to France in 2026 and the appointment of Parkland alum Ryan Scott as a new peace officer for the college.
