Sewer repairs to shut down portions of Green Street and Fifth Street

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (Chambana Today) — A couple more lane closures will be coming across Champaign in order to make room for sewer repairs this month.

From January 5 to January 12, the eastbound lane of Green Street will close from Westlawn Avenue to Draper Avenue. The westbound lane will remain open for traffic. The construction will be to repair a sanitary sewer lateral, and will be done by Northern Construction.

From January 7 to January 12, SNC Construction will shut down a portion of Fifth Street from Chalmers Street to Armory Avenue to complete a sewer repair.
