CHAMPAIGN, IL (Chambana Today) — A new halal-certified rotisserie chicken restaurant is set to officially welcome the community with a Grand Opening celebration later this month.

Spitfire Chicken, located at 2510 Village Green Place, will host the event Saturday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Attendees can expect free samples, a prize wheel featuring food giveaways and deals, and a meet-and-greet with the restaurant’s new chicken mascot. The restaurant will remain open until 8 p.m. following the celebration.

To mark the occasion, Spitfire is offering a Grand Opening Combo all day: a quarter chicken, a side, and a drink for $12, with the option to upgrade to a half chicken for an additional $5.

The menu features halal-certified rotisserie chicken alongside signature items including the Spitfire Mac, a dish combining mac and cheese, rotisserie chicken, bacon bits, and scallions, and the Naan-wich, which layers chopped rotisserie chicken, garlic mayo, coleslaw, and sauce in warm naan bread.

The grand opening will also serve as the formal launch of Service Tuesdays, a weekly program offering a 15% discount to first responders, healthcare workers, veterans, and active military personnel.

Co-owner Rhiannon Clifton said the event is a reflection of the support the restaurant has already received from the local community.

“We’ve been building something here that we’re really proud of, and Chambana has shown up for us since day one,” Clifton said. “This is our way of celebrating the community right back.”

More information is available at spitfire-chicken.com or through the restaurant’s social media accounts at @eatspitfirechicken on Instagram and Facebook.
