Urbana, Ill. (Chambana Today) — The City of Urbana Public Works Department has announced temporary road closures scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2025, to accommodate the Urbana High School Homecoming Parade.
The parade is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. and conclude around 4:00 p.m. During this time, portions of several city streets will be closed briefly as the parade progresses through downtown Urbana.
The parade route is as follows:
- Begins at Iowa Street, heading north on Race Street to Washington Street
- East on Washington Street to Broadway Avenue
- North on Broadway to Main Street
- East on Main Street to Vine Street
- South on Vine back to Washington Street
- Ends west on Washington Street at Broadway Avenue, concluding in the Urbana High School parking lot
City officials emphasize that traffic will only be halted temporarily in each section as the parade moves through. Roads and intersections will reopen immediately after the last parade participants pass through.
Drivers are advised to expect minor delays and plan alternate routes if traveling through downtown Urbana during the event.
